Toger Munson was born in Norway. He joined the WI 13th Infantry, Company I. The army listed him as living in Clayton, Crawford County, WI, age 44, a farmer, and married. He had hazel eyes, black hair, dark complexion, and stood 5’9”. He enlisted for three years on February 26, 1864 at La Crosse, WI, and mustered there the same day as a Private (Menig). He transferred here from WI 15th Infantry, Company B on June 11, 1865. He mustered out on November 24, 1865 at San Antonio, TX.
