Peter Larson was born in Norway. He joined the WI 15th Infantry, Company I. The army listed him as living in Primrose, Dane County, WI and aged 17. He had gray eyes, light hair, light complexion, and stood 5’2”. He enlisted for three years on February 15, 1864 at Scandinavia, WI, and mustered at Madison, WI on April 20, 1864 as a Private (Menig) and musician. Larson was sick in Chattanooga and Nashville, TN during October 1864. He then transferred to the 24th Infantry on February 13, 1865 and to Company I of the 13th Infantry on June 10, 1865. He mustered out at Madison, WI on February 2, 1866. On August 30, 1876, he filed a pension.
