Georg Goodridge was born “Gunlek Guttormsen Bringa” in Telemark, Norway. He joined the WI 15th Infantry, Company E. The men of the company called themselves “Odin’s Rifles.”

The army listed Goodridge as living in Rushford, Fillmore County, MN, age 20, and unmarried. He enlisted for three years on February 15, 1862 at La Crosse, WI, and mustered on February 25, 1862 at Madison, WI as a Private (Menig). He was with the provision transport from Stevenson, AL on October 13, 1863. He was sick in Chattanooga on December 28, 1863. He was left sick in Knoxville, TN on February 24, 1864. He mustered out with E Company in Chattanooga, TN on December 20, 1864. After the war he lived at Lake Park, Becker County, MN.
