SUMMARY:Research Trip to FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City
DESCRIPTION:Join NAGC on a research trip to the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City March 3-10\, 2024! \nThe FamilySearch Library houses the largest collection of genealogical materials in the world. Their collection consists of books\, periodicals\, maps\, pedigree charts\, CD-ROMs\, microfilms\, and microfiche pertaining to genealogical and historical research that will help bring your ancestors and their stories to life. Norwegian ancestry is not required. The library has resources to cover every country you wish to research. \nNAGC has reserved a block of rooms at the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel\, steps away from the FamilySearch Library. \nThe cost of the trip is $1500 for members/$1700 for non-members (PLEASE NOTE travel and meals are not included). A $300 deposit is due by December 9\, 2023\, with the remaining balance due by January 20\, 2024. \nWe will be holding an informational Zoom session Thursday November 16\, 2023 at 6:00 PM Central for anyone interested to learn more about the trip and how researching at the FamilySearch Library can help them with their genealogical journey. DESCRIPTION:Salt Lake City Research Tour 2019\nSeptember 15-22\, 2019 \nWe invite you to join us for a genealogical tour to the world-famous Family History Library of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located in Salt Lake City\, Utah. \nNAGC Member Fee: $1250 Non-Member Fee: $1350 \nPlease note that registration does NOT include airfare; all arrangements for travel must be made by each tour participant. \nParticipating in this tour will give you an opportunity to work with the largest collection of genealogical materials in the world! If you would like to spend some worthwhile research time at a wonderful facility\, this is the tour for you! \nJerry Paulson\, Naeseth Chair for Genealogical Research & Publication at the NAGC & NL\, will assist you with your research and be available for personal consultation. Jerry has extensive experience as a genealogical researcher. He has taught courses in genealogical research and Norwegian cultural topics at Madison Area Technical College\, and has led numerous research tours to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. Knowledgeable library staff and volunteers will also be available. Together with all these resources\, your genealogical questions will be addressed. \nThe Salt Lake Plaza Hotel has been chosen for the overnight accommodations because it is located next to the library.
