SUMMARY:Rick Steves Lecture "Travel as a Political Act" at Wisconsin Union Theater (Shannon Hall)
DESCRIPTION:Guidebook author\, travel television host\, newspaper columnist and overall European travel expert Rick Steves has lived out of a suitcase for over 30 years. Considering himself “a citizen of this planet”\, Steves’ countless experiences discovering unknown places and sharing them with others have redefined his opinions of travel and community. In Travel as a Political Act\, Steves explains how his travels have broadened his perspectives and opinions on drug policy reform\, the role of government and America’s place in relation to the rest of the world. Through anecdotes and satirical humor\, Steves sheds light on his reality of American travel in relation to politics. \nFor more information and to purchase tickets\, visit: Wisconsin Union Theater

SUMMARY:Rosemaling Coast To Coast
DESCRIPTION:Rosemaling Coast to Coast was started as an idea from artists with a deep love of rosemaling in 2016. This incredible idea got artists talking around the nation. Rosemaling Coast to Coast received its non-profit status in April of 2017 and started recruiting a leadership team and members to join the incredible movement. The idea was to get rosemalers around the nation into one place\, at one time. Think about it. The west-coast creativity\, the southern artistry\, the eastern originality\, the northern inspiration and the midwestern imagination all in one place. It is bound to be ahhhh-mazing! \nThe conference will be held in June 26 – 28\, 2018 in Decorah\, Iowa\, the home of the Vesterheim: The National Norwegian-American Museum and Luther College. We will gather at Luther College\, for the convention. \nArtists will have an opportunity to gather in painting communities\, share style ideas\, take classes\, visit the Vesterheim museum\, take in the sights around Decorah (including the famous Eagles)\, as well as having many opportunities to grow in their craft.\nFor more information: https://sites.google.com/view/rosemalingcoasttocoast/about-us
