George H. Paulson was born “Halvor George Paulsen Vik” on March 31, 1843 at Stange, Hedemarken, Norway. He joined the TX 15th Infantry Company K for the Confederate Army. Paulson enlisted for duration of the war on March 29, 1862 at Bosqueville, McLennan County, Texas as a Private (Menig). From May to Jun 1863, he was absent sick at Marksville, Louisiana. He was taken prisoner near Yellow Bayou, Louisiana on May 18, 1864 and held at New Orleans, Louisiana. Paulson was sick with intermittent fever at St. Louis General Hospital, New Orleans between June 20 – 29, 1864. He was exchanged at Red River Landing, Louisiana on July 22, 864. After the war, he lived in Hagerman County, New Mexico. He died on January 3, 1912 in Bosque County, Texas.
