These volumes include:

  • Immigrants assigned ID number based on year of arrival and placement within original ship passenger list
  • Additional list of "unidentified" immigrants not found on passenger lists
  • Where possible, includes immigrant's full name, parents' names, date and place of birth, settlement in U.S., spouse and children's names
  • Detailed bibliography of printed Norwegian and Norwegian-American local history
  • First-name index (which includes patronymic and farm name, plus birth year and lst residence in Norway)
  • Last-residence index (useful for identifying Norwegian-American settlements for emigrants from a particular area of Norway)
