Sognefjordlag in Stoughton, Wisconsin

August 10, 2017 - August 12, 2017

August 10-12

Every August we have a get together, called a stemne, in a town or city in the upper Midwest. At our stemne we gather to celebrate our Norwegian heritage, to share in fellowship and friendship, to learn about our own genealogy and family history and to listen to speakers and entertainers. Our meetings can now also be held in Mandt Lodge, which is air conditioned and handicap accessible. A committee of board members are busy procuring speakers and we will continue to hold our silent auction which benefits our scholarship fund for youth.

For more information, contact Kathy Johnson (608) 238-1785.

Testimonials

“An excerpt from a research paper written by a high school student:     I don't have the privilege to remember my great-grandfather Wallace, and sadly never had the chance to appreciate knowing my great-grandmother Inga-as she passed away when I was too young to realize how much I could gain from getting to know her. Thanks to their daughter (my great-aunt Carol Culbertson), I was lucky enough to have extensive knowledge of both of their lives...... I conclude my project, in the peace of mind and knowledge that this great man lived a full and prosperous life, with not a moment of passion wasted.”

- Evan (Illinois)
