Join Norwegian American Genealogical Center & Naeseth Library for a research tour to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah where you’ll find the largest collection of genealogical materials in the world; NAGC researchers (Jerry Paulson & Chris Klauer) will be available to assist you during the entire trip; knowledgeable library staff & volunteers will be on hand for research help. This trip is not limited to those with Norwegian ancestry!

$1500 (NAGC Members)  $1700 (Non-members)  *Cost of trip does not include transportation, meals or entertainment.

Accomodations: Salt Lake Plaza Hotel (122 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City UT 84101) is located conveniently next to the Family History Library and offers a free airport shuttle and has an on-site restaurant. Other attractions in the area include the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and many shops and restaurants.

Before you go:

Participants are encouraged to join Zoom orientation meetings with NAGC staff to ensure all participants are organized and prepared to get the most out of their trip to Salt Lake City. Join NAGC staff for a Q&A webinar on April 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM (Central) to ask questions and hear more about the experience.

Trip Schedule:

Sunday, October 16: Arrive at Salt Lake Plaza Hotel

7:00 PM: Registration and orientation (location to be announced)

Monday, October 17

9:00 AM: Introduction to the Family History Library at the Orientation Room of the library, followed by tour and independent research.

4:00 PM: Debriefing meeting (location to be announced)

6:00 PM: Complimentary dinner at the Plaza hotel (room to be announced)

Tuesday, October 18 – Saturday, October 22

9:00 AM to 4:00 PM: Independent research at Family History Library

4:00 PM: Debriefing meeting (location to be announced)

Sunday, October 23: Depart
