Halvor Jenson joined the WI 15th Infantry, Company E. The men of the company called themselves “Odin’s Rifles.” The army listed him as living in York, Green County, WI, age 42, and unmarried. He enlisted for three years on October 21, 1861 in Green County, and mustered on December 8, 1861, at Madison, WI as a Private (Menig). He was sick in hospital in Nashville, TN on November 26, 1862. He died there on January 12, 1863.
