He is listed as living in Waterford, Racine County, WI, age 42, and married. He enlisted for three years at Waterford on November 12, 1861 and mustered at Madison, WI, on December 2, 1861 as a Private (Menig) and Company Musician. He became unfit for service and was discharged from Mississippi River Island No. 10 on May 24, 1862. In 1869, a pension was filed in his name by a minor (presumably his child) named F.O. Torry.
